Cindy Chang, M.S. is a senior statistician for the UCLA Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Equity and the UCLA Center for Cancer Prevention and Control Research. Cindy received her Master of Science in Biostatistics from UCLA. For over three decades, Cindy has been working on various medical and public health related projects involving: melanoma treatments and prevention, smoking cessation intervention, breast cancer prevention and screening, pediatric and adult AIDS treatments, immunology laboratory, hepatitis B testing, prostate cancer screening, HPV vaccine uptake, colorectal cancer screening, liver cancer disparities, adult and childhood obesity reduction, cigarette and e-cigarette use, blood pressure reduction in Black barbershops, hookah smoking, training community health advisors in African American churches, lung transplant, Atherosclerosis Risk In Communities (ARIC) study cohort, and community outreach to vulnerable population groups.

Cindy uses SAS, Stata and R for statistical analyses. She uses CASES (Computer Assist Survey Execution System) and Qualtrics for setting up and managing data collections and conducting online surveys.

While, Cindy has spent most of her career at the UCLA Center for Cancer Prevention and Control Research. She also worked for John Wayne Cancer clinic at UCLA and later John Wayne Cancer institute at Saint John’s Hospital for more than 7 years. She contributed to the Maternal-Child Immunology Clinic and Clinical Immunology Laboratory at UCLA.  Cindy’s other collaborative work includes departments/divisions of Biomathematics, Geriatrics, and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UCLA.  Currently, Cindy is also working with researchers from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
